Island Bliss!

A levels are over at last.. and I am absolutely free from any form of education from now onwards! That means good-bye to good ol' pens and paper, essays, reading assignments, stacks and stacks of notes... teachers... waking up at 7 and freaking out because it isn't 5am which probably means detention for the day plus the cab fare spent on rushing me to school if daddy has to bring Nick all the way to his school. oh gosh..the list could go on and on forever! Freedom has been kind so far. We basked in the sun in Phuket (my shoulder is golden brown right now), and soaked in the crystal-blue waters of the Andaman sea along the pristine Mai Khao Beach! I'll let the pictures do the talking~ It all began the day before we left, with shopping along the orchard belt, our favourite place:

Mimi and I enjoying some Japanese black pig hot pot rice at Tampopo after grabbing some great buys! Can you imagine the tremendous joy of finally finding all the clothes you need JUST before the trip??? (plus at really good discounted prices! double joy!) And so we left~ on a morning flight to Phuket, tummies filled with the best breakfast anyone could ever have before a flight, MacDonalds! Mummy sure knows the best way to our hearts! ooooh, that's why i love her so~ now hand some hashbrowns over!

As royal subjects of the Queen of Westwood, we get treated to lunch with her highness :) here's Nicky tucking into some pie for lunch!

What's a holiday without shopping hm? Off to the markets!

During our stay at the JW Marriott resort, Ben looked forward to meeting his new buddies, Lucky and Yaya, the twin baby elephants!

well, guess who had the special privilege of riding the elephant with the Queen? ;-) oh yea you guessed it alright.... ME! heee <3 the mahut was nice to stop our elephant for a while while i snapped shots of mummy with the picturesque view of Phi Phi Islands!

Ben, Mummy, Mimi and Nicky saying "Sawadhikha" to the elephants and feeding them bananas, pineapples, and watermelon slices! The elephants and their mahuts led us to our next stop, but that wasn't without some forest tracking!

Mel, the forest fairy, found her spot in a little magical corner with curly vines! She's going to put a spell on you~ After some traditional Thai Coffee, Tea and Pancakes, this kind, strong bull brought us on its rounds around the rice padi field where it works in the morning!

But alas, it was time to say goodbye to Phuket and head back home!

Spring Awakening!

As i write this post, i'm sitting in the absolute pitch darkness of the weee hours of the morning! the only light around here is possibly only from this laptop, running really low on battery, and from the streetlamps outside (which cast pretty pretty shadows on the wall here... of a reddish hue) now you wouldn't believe what happened the past few hours! i called this post spring awakening.. not after the musical, not after the pangdemonium play nathan hartono acted in.. not because it's spring-time.. but really because i had awoken, in the most bizarre manner; the feeling of it was one of a kind, i never ever felt in the 17 years, 3 months, and 16 days i have been on this earth! thus the ridiculous title :) because nothing makes sense at this hour! i wouldn't be surprised if all of a sudden, the pitch-dark living room i'm in starts morphing into a whirlwind abyss of cards flying everywhere! (i'm not even sure of what i'm saying!)

i wouldn't be surprised if The Rabbit appeared and promised leading me through the Tunnel of Possibilities, escaping from the evil reality of my impending A's

Nahhh.. actuaully, with just about 16 days left to it, i think i would really appreciate a Tea Party with the Mad Hatter

yea, a tea party would be much better than escapism! Anyway, i was just messaging Mel since i knew that she would be the only person awake at such hour! and she says...

Well, i GUESS MAYBE PERHAPS CONSIDERING THE FACT THAT... yea. my sleep is sacred. i keep regular sleeping habits, turning in by 2am latest, and getting up whenever mom wakes me up for school. i DONT sleep on the couch no matter how comfy it is because the comfort of my pillow and quilt and everything just outweighs the truth that sleeping on the couch could reward me with the thrills of waking up this early ON A SATURDAY.. blogging and more. i had a cool dream now that i slowly regain my senses. it's like i'm slowly awakening to the realities of this dark, cold, saturday morning!

NOW.... i wouldn't have been this awake on normal school-waking days.. the house wouldn't be this curious on usual days... the smell wouldn't be this peculiar on any other saturday... though it doesn't change the fact that Benji, too, is awake. HAHA. i realised after hearing him mutter my name from his room. "KIMBERLYYYYYY~" Well, Benji isn't the only one calling out to me so early in the morning >.< my tummy's crying out for some attention. time to hit the fridge!

OH MY GOSH!!! GUESS WHAT NOW. I REALISED IT'S A TUESDAY?! ok, maybe it's time to wake the others up. it's my last week in school and i'm really excited about it! >.< looking forward to our baccalaureate service on friday when we REALLY bid thee adieu and never evver EVER need to don a school uniform again.. until we return for the papers again that is! ooooooohhh the harsh realities of school ;-) i guess my breakfast can wait a while, while i prepare for schoool! good thing we start later on tuesdays. BUT HANG ON... i've the essay outlines and readings to complete. oh bother. now wouldn't the appearance of The White Rabbit be oh so apt~ "Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be too late!"

The coolest things always have to happen during the busiest times in the school term! I've been having way too much fun editing and decorating photos, the mid-year-exams almost slipped my mind >.< whoops~

Mummy dearest brought the girls and Benji for a lil getaway... so, Mimi left her precious MacAir in my hands ;) "Take care of it, promise?" "Of course I will mimi dearest! can i use it too?" *thinks for a bit* "okay." this resulted:

well... i think that'll take a while. p.s. i should probably win some brownie points with her and hit the books while waiting ;)

School's here and 2011 has been great so far :)

Mimi, Mel, Nick, and I went out today! First stop- SUBWAY:

Last night Mel and I went out in search for the most perfect pair of shoes for school.. but yesterday being the 2nd day of the Chinese New Year, most of the shops were closed! So off to Ikea we went, and back we came with a tea set :)
